This "Observation of Teaching Practice Form" should be completed by the observer.
Completion of the form
This form is comprised of different sections:
- About the observation/class
- Pre-observation meeting (INTENT)
- During the observation (IMPLEMENTATION)
- Achievement of learning outcomes (IMPACT)
- Review of Blackboard learning resources
- Debrief/Post-observation feedback meeting
You may wish to complete parts of this form at different times. For this reason, the form can be saved. Click "finish later" at the bottom of the page. Once you provide your email address, you will receive an email with a link to the unfinished document. We recommend that you also make a note of the link displayed on screen. If you lose the link, or you provide an incorrect email address, your data will be lost as we will not have access to incomplete forms.
When you have finished, please click 'save for later' because you may wish to modify the responses after your debriefing with the participant. You should also download the responses as a pdf document after submitting the form, and email these to the observee.
Data collection and analysis
The personal data collected through this survey will be accessible only to designated members of the Human Resources team and CELT (Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning). Your individual data will be shared with your Head of Department who will provide it to you and your line manager to inform your appraisal. Anonymised data, collated at department/school/college level will be shared with Heads of School/Colleges and with the different institutional committees for the purposes of determining institutional development needs, for informing reports such as the TEF or to be included in future research conducted by CELT.
Please note that any data collected as part of this survey is managed in accordance with the UWL Privacy policy for staff.
